Lizzie’s Café: An OCMD Gem for Allergy-Friendly Dining

For more than two decades, Lizzie’s Café & Bistro has been serving up Ocean City flavor with a personal touch. Owned and operated by Cathie and Neil Rocklin, along with their son Matt, Lizzie’s is a true family venture and it shows in every detail, from the friendly welcome, adorable café interior, to the food that keeps locals and visitors coming back.
Lizzie’s has established itself as a trusted destination for guests with food allergies and dietary restrictions. Their digital ordering system makes it possible to flag a wide range of allergens, including gluten, dairy, shellfish, soy, peanuts, and tree nuts, as well as more specific sensitivities such as onion, garlic, cayenne, cilantro, citrus, and apple cider vinegar. For allergies not listed, guests can speak directly with staff so modifications can be made whenever possible.
At the end of the day, it all comes down to the food, and Lizzie’s serves up flavors that speak for themselves. Our afternoon visit to Lizzie’s was everything you want in a meal out—quick service, friendly conversation, and food that was nothing short of outstanding. The New England Lobster Roll was perfectly chilled, refreshing, and perfectly seasoned with lemon and herbs, while the Connecticut Lobster Roll came warm and buttery, each bite packed with tender lobster. The Maryland Crab Soup was full of chunky vegetables and jumbo lump crab with a delicious Old Bay kick. And the Bacon Grilled Cheese? Crispy, gooey, and indulgent, the kind of sandwich that disappears before you realize it.
For comfort with a twist, the gluten-free Lobster Mac & Cheese is rich and creamy, topped with buttery lobster and a parmesan herb garnish. Even the pizzas are memorable, like the Crab Old Bay Pizza or the Lobster Lemon Butter Pizza, each baked on a gluten-free crust until crisp and bubbling. And do not skip dessert. Lizzie’s gluten-free Key Lime Pie is tangy and refreshing, while the Chocolate Ganache Torte is silky, indulgent, and the perfect finish. We've already made plans to visit again next week to try the meatloaf sandwich and pizzas.
The Rocklins have built a place where everyone can sit down, relax, and truly enjoy a meal. After 21 years, Lizzie’s has earned its place as one of Ocean City’s most trusted and memorable dining spots.
